Property in Pakistan
Real estate is one of the most common places Pakistanis put their savings, but it is also among the least standardised. Prices vary enormously not just between cities but between phases and blocks of the same scheme, and the difference between a file, an allotment and a registered transfer is something many first-time buyers learn the hard way.
What to verify before buying
Approval status with the relevant development authority, whether the society is on any regulator's list of unapproved schemes, the chain of previous transfers, and any outstanding development charges. Taxes on property transactions differ for filers and non-filers, which can change the total cost of a purchase considerably.
What you will find here
Market trends across major cities, new and existing housing schemes, construction material costs, rental market movement, and changes to the taxes and regulations that affect buyers, sellers and landlords.
