Privacy Policy

You can read Dailica without giving us anything. We ask for your details only when you write to us, and we do not sell them. This page explains exactly what is collected, by us and by the services we use.

1. What we collect

What you send us. If you use the contact form, we store the name, email address, subject and message you typed, plus the IP address the message came from. That is kept so we can reply and so we can trace abuse of the form.
Server logs. Like every website, our host records the pages requested, the time, the referring page, your IP address and your browser and device type. These logs are technical: they let us fix errors and spot attacks.
Cookies and local storage. We use a session cookie to keep forms secure, and your browser's local storage to remember small preferences — a chosen city for rates, for example. These stay on your device.
Advertising and analytics cookies. Set by third parties, described below.

We do not ask for, and have no reason to hold, your identity documents, payment details or financial information. Please do not send them to us.

2. How we use it

To answer your message, to keep the site working and secure, to understand which pages readers find useful, and to comply with the law. Nothing more.

3. Advertising, cookies and Google

This site is funded by advertising and may show ads served by third-party networks, including Google AdSense.

If we use an analytics service, it is used in aggregate — to count page views and see which sections are read — and not to identify you personally.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. It is handled only by:

our hosting provider, which stores the site and its database;
advertising and analytics providers, as described above, on their own terms;
anyone we are legally required to disclose it to.

5. How long we keep it

Contact form messages are kept while they are useful — typically no longer than twenty-four months — and then deleted. Server logs are kept for a short period and then rotated away by our host.

6. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, the admin area is behind authentication, and stored passwords are hashed. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable measures to protect what we hold.

7. Children

This site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your choices

Cookies. Your browser can block or delete cookies, including advertising cookies. Blocking them will not stop you reading the site, though some preferences will not be remembered.
Your data. Write to us through the contact page to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will act on a genuine request.

9. Links to other sites

Our pages link to official websites, sources and other publications. Once you follow such a link you are on someone else's site, governed by their privacy policy, not ours. We suggest you read it.

10. Changes to this policy

If our practices change, this page changes with them, and the date at the top is updated. Material changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.
